It all began with one simple idea...
With the advent of vibe-coding tools it got me thinking, what if I could vibe-design my prototypes instead of using Figma or manually coding front-end changes?
I began my research and started testing all the different tools, v0, Replit, Lovable, Bolt, and then finally OnLook, to see how I could quickly create a prototype of an interactive design proposal generator…
Bringing it home
After that prototype I needed to start thinking about how this was actually going to work…how would it integrate with the design style we created for the website, the backend database, the other products within Foveate, like 3D Walkthroughs, and Client Quizzes, everything had to feel seamless and cohesive.
How could we make it so generating not only 1 proposal was easy, but multiple, and then have each one update with new information as a design firm grows, like team member bios, company logos etc.
I also had to think about all the missing elements in design proposals, things like interactive budgets, map support, 3D model viewers, and predict future needs like having tons of images, turning that experience into image carousels like Instagram instead of just long scrolls or slides like traditional decks…everything I would’ve wanted when I was an Experiential Architect…
Taking it further…
But prototyping a front-end divorced from the product wasn’t enough, and OnLook didn’t give me the control I needed to fine-tune my designs to the taste and polish I wanted to, I needed my own custom assets, videos, typefaces, and to hook it up to a back-end, so I started teaching myself Cursor and Midjourney so I could bring it to the next level…
I wanted the generation steps to feel like Typeform, easy, low-cognitive load, joyful animations on each completion, and then to have a responsive, interactive proposal at the end would be a delight to users.
